Basking Lizards - The Best for Pet Lizards!

The fine people at Basking Lizards (www.baskinglizards.com) sent me a link to some really well written instructions for a watering system you can build yourself.  You will need the Adobe Acrobat reader to view these plans.  You can see the plans here:  http://www.baskinglizards.com/automatedmistingsystem_free.pdf.

Alex Thomson runs Urban Exotics.  He has some really nice Snakes, Chameleons and other reptiles.  I got Icabod from Alex and helped him to build his web site.

This list was submitted by Jaylyn.  She is the new owner of my two Nosey B females.

Friendly people, good service, good prices - check it out.

Although the term "Picasso Chameleon" is trademarked by Olaf Pronk for use by Chameleons he sells, these Chameleons probably come from Ambilobe.  The Picasso is probably the nicest looking Panther Chameleon of all.  They are simply amazing.

These pages range from the very clinical and very professional to the very personal but they are each unique and interesting.  Please take a few moments and get to know the owners, breeders and pets on these pages.

While the Chameleon Journals has an extensive on-line library of information, probably the most useful part of this site is the interactive list server.  This is an E-Mail list dedicated to Chameleons.  You can post a Chameleon related question and usually within a few hours someone will have replied to your question with some solid advice.  While packed with solid advice and experts, this list tends to be a bit more social and a bit less serious than other lists.  A great place to start!  To sign up for the list just go here and follow the instructions on the left side of the screen.

This site has probably the most extensive technical information on the largest variety of species that I have found.  The authors range from vets to experts working in Madascar, etc.  This site is a must!

This list is sponsored by Yahoo and features experts, vets and serious Chameleon keepers.  The list is oriented more towards the serious breeder it's still the best place to go if you have an urgent question.

This group is based in the USA.  They import rare Chameleons from a Chameleon farm in Tanzania.  This provides an excellent alternative to wild harvesting and helps to protect the species while allowing Chameleon owners access to some of the world's most rare and unique animals.

Bob Sligh makes a really nice cage.  He assembles the cages, drills all the holes then takes it apart and ships it to you.  If you are a total clutz with tools as I am, set aside a couple of hours to put together a good sized cage.  His cages are a bit pricey but WOW are they nice.  Your Chameleon will love you for them.

The world's only wall-less Chameleon Cage.  Attractive yet practical this system contains a full watering system and an exciting environment for your Chameleon.

Crickets and other bugs just aren't enough for a healthy Chameleon.  You are going to need to supply calcium and other nutrients.  A good "gut load" to feed your crickets then lightly dust with a good supplement - it's just like "Shake and Bake" - yummy!

For a general all purpose site that has it all, you just can't beat www.kingsnake.com.  They even have sites dedicated to other countries like www.kingsnake.ca, etc.  Whether it's news or a great deal on a used cage - check Kingsnake first.
