Thor

Home Up

Update June 3, 2003:  Thor died June 2, 2003.  He was the picture of health all day, eating and drinking well.  Some time during the night he died and was found at the bottom of his cage the next morning.  Necropsy results are pending.

I acquired Thor in late December 2001 from Global Exotics in Ontario.  Thor is a wonderful example of a Mount Meru Dwarf Jackson Chameleon.  He has a very good personality and remains healthy and active.  In the Winter, Thor lives in a huge cage from Bob Sligh of www.cages.net.  In the summer he lives in an even bigger outdoor cage at our cottage.

Update March 24, 2003

With all the excitement about Tiger and her clutches and the drama of Chris's death not to mention the expected arrival of some Picasso Chameleons, it's important not to forget about Thor.  Thor is a real beauty.  Sadly this summer Thor suffered a fall inside his summer cage.  He was uninjured except for the very tip of his rostral horn.  Only a few millimeters was broken off and he remains, secretly, my favorite Chameleon but it was a very sad day.

Thor still remains healthy and active.  Thor has grown quite a bit since his arrival however he's still a very tiny little guy.  Today he started his first shed of 2003 which you can see dangling around his rear feet - his new skin certainly looks nice and bright and fresh under his wrinkled old skin.
