This beautiful Ambilobe Panther Chameleon is certainly the most colorful and beautiful Chameleon in our home.  He was purchased from Ivan Alfonso of www.mythicalchameleons.com

I was on vacation with the family in Orlando and picked Theo up from Ivan's home on April 22, 2003.

Before you try to bring a Chameleon across the border you need to do a bit of preparation.  I needed a CITES permit from the US Fish & Wildlife Service.  You can obtain one of these but allow yourself at least 3 months lead time since this department is one seriously inefficient and screwed up mess of a bureaucracy.   My permit arrived the very day that I met with Ivan to pick up Theo.  Talk about close timing!

I could have tried to bring him with me but decided with all the red tape, it would be easier to just ship him home ahead of me.  My friend Ruth picked him up at the airport and cared for him till I got back.

Theo really is amazing.  I'll be posting more pictures and details in the near future.
